Blue Ice (Winter Edition)

*Available September 1st - May 31st / Summer Edition

Short Description
Blue Ice is one of Reykjavik Backpackers' best selling day tours from Reykjavik. Here's the chance to really experience an Icelandic Glacier during the wintertime. This tour will take you to the frozen glacial tongue called Sólheimajökull Glacier in the South of Iceland on a daytrip from Reykjavik. The scene is magnificent, rugged, raw and ever changing. On the tour the expert guides will find an ice wall suitable for trying a hand at ice climbing. Everything you need will be provided: Ice axes, crampons, harness and safety lines. The safety line will keep you totally safe during the ice climbing - even though you lose your grip you'll sit comfortably in your harness. On the way back to Reykjavik we'll make a stop at the Beautiful Skógarfoss waterfall.

On this trip you get to see and do what most of the population will only dream about and very few ever try. Why not be adventurous and explore the amazing crawling glacier?

Price 19.990 ISK, including pick up from Reykjavik Backpackers and a packed lunch.
